In this post I’d like to elaborate a bit on what paid membership will be like on Route 50.

First of all, at this point, it will no longer be called Backstage, as that was more of a working/temporary name for the membership. For the release of Route 50, paid members will instead be called Cooltrainers (where “regular” members will be trainers).

I’d like to point out that being a Cooltrainer will in no way make you (or make another person) better than non-paying members. Having the option to pay a small amount of money to be a Cooltrainer is more of a way to support Route 50 and all its endeavors, pay the artists, and keep the project going. In exchange, you’ll get access to beta features and (when it’s out) exclusive RPG content, but I have no interest in there being a sort of “class system”.

Being a Cooltrainer will definitely have its perks, though.

• No ads
• Access to more site styles
• Exclusive RPG content and quests (no storyline will be Cooltrainer-exclusive though)
• Early entrance to beta features

I’m sure things will be revised and more benefits will be added as time goes on. My question for all you readers is this – will you pay to be a Cooltrainer? Do you think it’s not worth it?
